It's the same in every town, every city -- everyone's buying up toilet paper, bottled water, and canned goods. The shelves around here up in Canada are empty, and we've got one of the best supply chains in the world! I was a bit ahead of the curve, since we added a few emergency items to our weekly grocery list about a month ago now, but it seems everyone's got a case of the panics these days! Even my wife, who was rolling her eyes at me when I suggested we stock up a month ago, has just recently become obsessed with reading about the Coronavirus. We even cancelled having a group of friends over for potluck this weekend. The thing is, I don't know anyone who's actually been diagnosed with COVID-19. Though apparently this thing spreads REALLY quickly. Just a month or two ago the Italians weren't taking it too seriously, and now Italy has become the center of the pandemic. I don't know what to think. I just wish this current small-c "crisis" was all over.

kinda is an understatement. my work already has people at the door to take your temp & ask if you've been to beijing in in the last couple of days. i had a terrible cold last month. if i had it now i'd probably be quarantined in my house binge watching the bachelorette for the next 14 days. but you know, it's there is any good time to have a billionaire germaphobe as your president, this is the time. much like the late howard hughes, trump sees germs everyplace. it's one of them, we ain't got the hero we deserve but we got the hero we need scenarios. yeah, my supermarket is out of toilet paper, but it is fully stocked with paper towels! people are idiots

Shopping at Walmart is like shopping in freaking Soviet Russia! Even still, it cost three times as much as normal! I've been on a diet for months and it already cost more to eat healthy than unhealthy. People have been buying the shit out of the storebrand stuff, leaving only the overpriced name brand stuff. Plus, they devestated the dairy section. I had to buy lact-aid which costs several times as much as regular milk. This pandemic is going to be the death of me and it won't be because of the virus.

if you're willing to live on radishes, hummas and twinkies, you can do pretty well. luckily the drive-thrus are still open here. but all the bars & indoor restaurants are closed. st. paddy's day was quieter than sh-t!
the two groceries near me still have functioning deli sections, so i'm good. if i can still get a whole chicken, or some sliced smoked turkey I'm reasonably happy. and today one store had some toilet tissue! but i didn't need none. i buy that dense uncomfortable scott towel sh-t. we got 2 rolls left and that'll last a family of three six months!

We just stocked up on meat because I hear the price of meat will be going up. All grocery prices will probably be going up. Might just have to eat the dog.
