These things just amaze the crap out of me.

I'm guessing Google sees some sort of hardware integration here: the all-knowing, all-seeing, superhelpful dog/horse which follows you about doing whatever you want.

It really makes you wonder how those things could change life in the next few decades. Those horse-like things can go places where wheeled vehicles can't. Sure, so can horses. But climate, etc. doesn't always allow for that. I could definitely see these being used in exploring other worlds.
