My brother and I were watching World War Z" yesterday and Brad Pitt has to go to Cardiff to find a way to fight the zombie virus. Not only is Cardiff the place WHo is shot, but the place he goes is the W.H.O facility! Then one of the doctors he sees there is Peter Capaldi, the upcoming 12th Doctor! The last one is probably a weird coincidence since WWZ was shot way before the 12th Doctor was chosen, but those first two make me think the writers must have been Doctor Who fans.

Somehow I don't think it was a coincidence. Maybe they already know beforehand that Capaldi got the part.
EDIT: for what it's worth, IMDB's trivia page states that the filmmakers had inside knowledge that Capaldi was up for the part. The announcement for Capaldi's casting happened after WWZ, but they must have signed him up for Who way, way back, when rumors about Smith leaving first started surfacing. (slightly similar to Tennant's case, he was also casted way ahead of time. The difference being that Smith left on good terms, while Eccleston was very vocal about not wanting to get typecast as the doctor and had a little bit of friction with the showrunners.)
