Just saw that Williscorto recognised StarskyHutch76...So what other ID's have people used over the years? For many years I was Hairbutt the Hippo/Paul Newell at the CBR Forums, but didn't really hang around other boards, occasionally I would post at other places under the name Hulaguy. I used to torment the Monkey Alliance as Hairbutt and J.N. Weasel back in the old Inside The Web/Asiaco days. Can you guys believe it's been about sixteen years since we first met?

At the DCMBs, I set up an account as "Paul Levitz" when the RKMBs launched a trolling raid on the DCMBs one time after Rob stopped being moderator. (I was also "Warren Ellis" and put a lot of effort into pretending to be him, until I crossed the line and called someone a "typing testicle" and blew it. Nowhereman was "John Byrne" and famously got fans to set up a thread entitled "Ask John Byrne".)
It seems I actually guessed Levitz's correct email address when I signed up, and so he received email confirmations of not only me registering his name, but also every time I posted on the board. Very, very funny.
There was mention of someone hacking his computer in amongst the fan chatter about the raid. This surprised me and made me realise that Levitz was probably angrily wanting to know how someone signed him up to the message boards and was pretending to be him, and this had spilled down to fan level. I couldn't hack a fridge. I just got lucky.

I've always been neilencio or some variation of "neil" since the late 90s. The Son of Mxy username was the exception. It was intended to be a gimmick character - the illegitimate son of one of the board regulars. I don't remember why I picked Mxy, maybe I foresaw that he's going to be a writer for Cracked and decided to latch on to that. Or maybe it's because I'm almost a decade older than him.
I've created some joke ALT IDs from time to time on the RKMBs and the DCMBs, but they were mostly used once and then forgotten. I didn't have the patience to log in and out of different accounts.

I used to be clarkydent on the now defunct DC Comics Message Board. It's the only place on the internet I've ever been banned from. "Multiple posts in threads that were obviously inappropriate", I didn't feel like I had really done anything wrong, but they wouldn't give me my account back.
The Green Lantern forum there was pretty wild from time to time for some weird reason. Green Lantern fans are deranged.

I had no idea you were a DCMB participant, Akbar! You're in fine company if you got banned. I got banned on several occasions.
Back in those days the GL boards were consumed by the pro-Hal and pro-Kyle trolling wars. I pretty much kept out of it as I'd stopped reading the title some years before. Having said that I think at one stage I had pretty much every GL comic from Silver Age 90 to 200.

I think part of the problem with that board was the moderation team. They didn't really pay much attention until things got wildly out of hand then their response was to just ban everyone regardless of their actual involvement. I had some laughs though, I always pulled for Hal.

hahaha! yeah! I had fun with that forum, and had a good many posts under my belt with clarkydent even with the weird axing of posts older than six months thing they had going on. I miss it. The new "comment" type feature they have is lame. I went back as "chocolope" but never really got back into the swing of things after repeated beggings wouldn't bring back 'dent.

?!!! banned from message bords? that has a familiar ring to it. our mass banning from CBR was the big bang that largely created the monkey alliance. you really joined the right group! GL fans ARE deranged! i don't mind telling you, i was pretty worried about ryan Reynolds for a while
