Smith insists he is "totally" going to come back
Doctor Who fans rejoice! Matt Smith has revealed that he wants to return to the BBC One series as soon as possible.
"I’m just waiting for the next anniversary," the former Time Lord reportedly told the Calgary Expo.
31-year-old Smith even admits he has already been in touch with showrunner Steven Moffat about a comeback.
He explains: “I spoke to Steven the other day and said ‘what’s the quickest one we can do?’”
The show’s 50th anniversary episode, The Day of the Doctor, saw the return of several familiar faces.

Tennant returned for The Day of the Doctor
Smith appeared alongside predecessor David Tennant and newly revealed 'War Doctor’ John Hurt, with the likes of Paul McGann and Tom Baker also making comebacks.
“I love the idea of other Doctors coming back,” says Smith. “Also, that gives me the opportunity to come back, which I totally will by the way!”
The actor is currently sunning it up at the Cannes Film Festival, where he is promoting his new film, Lost River The fantasy thriller, which is Hollywood star Ryan Gosling’s first stab at directing, has been panned by critics so far.
