Anyone who was worried things would be too dark with the new Doctor can rest easy. This was a fun episode.
In this episode, Clara insists that the Doctor take her back in time to Sherwood Forrest so she can meet Robin Hood despite his protests that he is just a storybook character. The Doctor is befuddled when a real Robin Hood shows up and he spends the episode trying to figure out how he can exist and at the same time stop the threat of a Sherriff of Nottingham with more in his arsenal than he should have.
The thing that will come as a relief to a lot of Who fans is just how many funny moments there were. This Doctor might be a little acerbic, but he doesn't seem to be asdark as we were led to believe.

loved this episode, although I was thrown for a loop because I distinctly remember seeing a spoiler pic that showed Robin Hood with part of his face revealed as a robot (similar to the villain from the first episode.) Turns out he's human.
I'm noticing a common theme throughout the episodes (besides the promised land thing, which seems to be this season's over-arcing storyline): the doctor meets characters that reflect the experiences he's gone through (or he thinks he's gone through); the robot from deep breath, who's changed bits and pieces of himself so much that it's now a completely different entity from the original, the defective dalek (it kinda brings back Eccleston's first Dalek episode - "you would make a good dalek."), and now Robin Hood, someone who's been buried underneath all the stories and legends that were built around his name.
...and yeah, I agree. the ep had several funny moments. It's also one of the few times where the doctor shows that he can actually fight (I mean, outside of the doctors that are actually fighters, like the third one with his karate chops.)

Yeah, apparently Robin Hood was so impressed with his fighting skills that he copied his moves during his fight with the Sherriff of Nottingham!

haven't seen it yet, but loved the preview! the guy doing robin reminded me of lord flashheart from the blackadder. woof! i'm glad to hear the new doctor does some fighting. no so much as "the bond doctor" i'm guessing, but he ought to be able to fight as well as jeremy brett's sherlock holmes for example. this has been a good ride so far! i hope clara stays for a while longer. the gurl has won me over, i'll tell you

I hope she stays around, too. She seems to play off this Doctor better than the last one.

loved the episode!! i'm definitely watching it a second time. did anyone notice the doctor disarmed robin with a judo chop when they were being captured? shades of pertwee! is it just me, or was the sheriff a dead ringer for 'the master'? DAMN!! .... is it possible?

I've heard rumours that the Master might appear this season. Tom Baker sort of hinted at it.

What were they thinking hiring Eric Roberts? His presence tells everyone the movie will be dreck.
How did he go from doing movies like "The Pope of Greenwich Village" to being the poster child for bad films?
