My daughter and I can't wait. We want to make sore we catch the simulcast, which is on at 1:50 pm here.
The encore presentation at 7pm that night looks like it's going to be stupidly trimmed down so the premiere of Atlantis can come on at 8pm. Yeah, it's just the freaking 50th anniversary. That would be like if the new Star Wars movie were being aired for the first time on TV and they trimmed it to make way for Sharknado.

I'm up at ten to seven tomorrow morning to watch. And then tomorrow night a replay followed by Adventures in Space and Time.

Have you got your days mixed up or is this a weird time difference thing? I thought it was playing everywhere at once.

Damn. Got my days mixed up! Here in Australia the new series (Eccleston onwards) is always on a Saturday. Kept thinking Saturday...Saturday.
I wish it was like the old days though. When I was a kid it was on five days a week, constantly replayed when they ran out of new episodes.

What gets me are these crazy long breaks between the seasons of Doctor Who. The networks in the states don't do that. Instead of shooting their load all at once, they might show a few new episodes in a row then have a rerun, so the seasons are stretched out all through the fall, winter, and spring. Then reruns in the summer.
As an American getting into a Brittish show, I was completely blindsided by these long Doctor droughts!

It leaves wanting for more, I can tell you. I wouldn't mind seeing them do it again over here. It's been a few years now since they played Doctor Who from the dtart and all the way through. It really needs to be done and for feck sake they have the episodes to show 5 days a week for a few years.
When I was a kid it constantly ran, Monday to Friday, every week, 6:30pm on the dot. Right after the Goodies, From Jon Pertwee to Sylvester McCoy. Last time they started from William Hatnell onwards!
Hey, that brings up a question...Hm, time for a new thread on the TV berd...

I would love it if BBC America would show the episodes from the original run. They never go earlier than the Eccelston era. This week has been Who takeover week, so they've been running all the new episodes plus the specials, but it would've been cool to see the old stuff.

The old episodes on dvd go for a butt load of money over here. more than for any other tee vee series, and they break them up into stery arcs. that's why they won't show the old ones I guess. they needs their money!!!!

The Doctor Who fan club I go to has all the stuff saved and will share it, but I'd have to buy a whole new drive to get it all!
