So, the season finale aired this past weekend...and I'm just watching it now. I don't profess to be a braniac -- far from it -- and that's okay with me. But I really enjoyed this series. I knew nothing about Sagan's version in the 80's so I, personally, had nothing to compare this new series against. I'm not sure if this was a one time thing -- but it was certainly worth my time.

I haven't followed it regularly, but the episodes I saw I enjowed. They did a good job of making science interesting.

no brainiac here either, but it's really a nicely done show. neil deGrasse tyson seems like quite a guy. i remember seeing him on bill maher's show on HBO, and maher was asking the panel if they could change one thing, what would it be. tyson said, "i'm make my friend hillary clinton president instead of barak obama, because she wouldn't have cut the space program." ! and he looked pissed! a ballsy thing to say. and he actually met carl sagan when he was a young science prodigy! he tells some great stories.
there's another really good one with sam neill on the science channel, which originally aired on BBC called hyperspace. it's a few years old, but they repeat it. i never knew sam neill was supernatural, but there it is

I've only seen one episode of Cosmos. It was the Michael Farraday one about electromagnetism. It definitely takes the boring out of science. I plan to watch more of them.

I have fond memories of watching the original Cosmos on PBS when I was a kid. Carl Sagan made science and astronomy very appealing. I haven't seen the new one yet.

the show is a great tribute to sagan. he's mentioned a lot and they show clips and play sound bites of him.

Even though I didn't watch the original, that last sound clip they played with the video of the Hubble footage going away from Earth, man that almost made me cry.

So, I thought last week was the finale -- but yet -- on my DVR, there's a new episode airing tonight (I always record the Monday night instead of Sunday).
I'm not complaining, but it does seem kinda odd.
