I don't find it as boring as 'Closing Time' during Smith's tenure, but man is this episode the weakest of Capaldi's run so far. Everybody was a caricature. The little kid was annoying, the doctor felt like they took all the quirks about his character and exaggerated it, Clara was weak and whiny, the astronaut woman had nothing on Adelaide Brooke, and Pink was his usual self.
I won't be surprised if Pink turns out to be a villain after all (maybe he got replaced by the thing under his bed and they're going to reveal it in a future episode), it felt like he is emotionally manipulating Clara behind the scenes and turning her away from the doctor.
As for Clara, I can understand being upset, but the bit at the end was too much. She treated the doctor like an idiot and was extremely disrespectful to the alien who saved her and the universe countless of times.
"I'll smack you so hard you'll regenerate." Really? She should try that line with the sixth doctor. Heck, she could try her luck on the Eccleston one.
The moon turning out to be a giant space creature was awesome, though.

I've seen people weigh in on both sides. Some think she was being bitchy, whiny and crazy. Others think it was her finest hour.
There have been some rumours of her leaving. Hope this isn't it.

I thought Pink was going to take on the action guy role the male teacher in the original group of companions did with the first doctor, but here we are 7 issues in and he's still not on the Tardis.

This episode was so-so for me.
My favorite part of the entire episode: the "New Moon".
Pretty sad when you think about it.
