It sounds too much like ass pirates, the first volume of which was also regular viewing for me.

yeah, 'ass pirates 3: the revenge of captain anus' was pretty good. i watched it for the splendid production values. but the sequel was just garbage
but i seen 'ice pirates' as a kid in the theater with my cousins! but like babu said i don't remember anything about it. except ron pearlman saying, "got any ah, water?" and wiggling his fingers like he meant money.  and i love me some dan tanna -- in anything! but i just watched the preview. damn, now that's a good preview. (see depravity, in zero gravity) they weren't screwing around

I went ahead and rented Ice Pirates on Amazon the other night. It was pretty good for what it was, I can see why it disapeared off the radar though.
