i remember seeing this a long time ago and was pretty nonplussed by the whole thing. but i was watching it on sci-fi this weekend. shatner almost maid me cry! poor jim kirk. and he looked okay. not as fat as I remembered

When I watched it at the movie theater, I remember thinking, "I can't believe Kirk went out like that. He got squished!"
I guess Shatner wasn't all that crazy about it, either. He wrote a whole series where Kirk came back from the dead and had a whole series of adventures.
