I like Sgt. Rock, too. Haney's use of him was weird, but not as weird as when Giffen brought him back to run Suicide Squad

Sgt. Rock was great. Still is. The stories were always very thoughtful, too. Definitely Bob Kanigher's best work, and we were lucky it was showcased most of the time by the great Joe Kubert.
Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos was good as well, but for very different reasons. Kirby always knew how to make things bigger.
These two series are like apples and oranges, though. Not really comparable except for the genre.
