Didn't this come out the same time as White House Down?
It reminds me of when they did two meteor about to hit earth movies at the same time. Ironically, Morgan Freeman was in one of those, too.

What were they both like? I've been tempted to watch both, but wasn't sure.

I hadn't seen White House Down yet but Olympus has Fallen was real good it was about these North Korean-led guerilla forces, range from people in their 20s through 40's in that group led by this man who him and a few other people from his country hold the whitehouse hostage and a American Secret Service agent mole who has joined forces with him.

The hubs and I saw this a little while ago as well -- it wasn't too bad. Loved seeing Dylan McDermott's character get his ass handed to him. I don't know what it is about him, but I haven't been able to stand him in anything (tv or movies) since the left The Practice.
I'd like to see White House Down just to compare them.

I haven't seen Olympus Has Fallen but I did see White House Down. It was a pretty good action flick. Jamie Foxx was able to come across more presidential than I expected.

I saw Olympus Has Fallen and really didn't get into it. It required repeated, monumental suspensions pof belief: first, that North Koreans could take the White House and hold it agaisnt Special Forces; second, that one lone guy with a bad attitude and a desire to make good could save the President's son, take out the North Koreans, save the President and save the USA from nuclear wasteland-age.
There was some sort of loose plot line left dangling in there too - how the North Koreans got hold of the top secret US tech which enabled them to repel the Special Forces incursion. There was a suggestion for a moment that this was an inside job but you get the impression the dirctor let that one go at the last minute in editing or something.
