For the pst few years, my family has been taking the Turkeyday holidays at the beach with the in-laws. Usually, we'd go to Orange Beach, near Gulf Shores aka the redneck Riviera.
This year, they decided on Panama City. They made the reservations before the hurricane hit. Luckily, our condo was still standing. Unluckily, it was frickin' cold! In years passed, it had always been warm enough for beach fun. Not this time!
Plus, my parents were keeping the Baboon hounds. So for the first couple of days, my mom kept calling to tell me how our golden retriever, Bella, was a perfect angel but Gizmo, the little pekinese/shitzu mix was running around like the Tasmanian devil and decorating her house like a Jackson Pollock painting.
Our last day was decently warm. The big pool was still freezing. Baboon girl gave a strange half yelp/whimper when she went in waist deep. Luckily, we found a heated pool nearby.
