the gurl doctor was such a 'woke' snowflake move. right up there with the gurl james bond. both franchises will survive. but it will probably take a half a decade or so before this 'me too' sh-t affecting film & tv runs it's course

Audiences are already over it, but Hollywood productions haven’t got the message yet. These kinds of social phenomenons only last for about six years. It picked up steam around 2014 or so, so it’s due to die out as a major thing. Nobody is against diversity and all that, but it’s been forced down everyone’s throats as a *replacement* for good writing in many cases.

It's such a dumb move to alienate your audience like that. Look what it did to Star Wars. They can't give their action figures away now. They all end up in the clearence aisles or are sent to wholesale places like Ollie's or 5 Below. I bought a Rey figure to turn into Osgood when I was making UNIT customs for my kid. The gurl from Rogue One became Kate Stewart. Coincidentally, Doctor Who merchandise is basically nonexistent now. You would have an easier time helping OJ find the real killer than finding a store that sells Who figures.
After this last episode, I'd say things are about to get much worse. The special guest cameo was supposed to distract everyone from the major retcon to Doctor Who Lore, but plenty still noticed and aren't happy.
