I think I had it confusedwith Sharky's Machine. That one was really intense!

i love 'sharkey's machine' so much. very gritty & well made. i don't think burt ever made anything quite as good afterward. 'stick' and 'malone' are however pretty good. i watch 'sharkey's machine' sometimes because it has been recommended by the food & drug administration to raise yer testosterone level. the discovery channel should air it as part of shark week

Wow. You'd never know what kind of movie it was from that movie. It makes it look about as badass as "Cop and a half".

I didn't even know Reynolds had made badass movies. I remember him from things like Cannonball Run.

Sharky's Machine is definitely badass with some really intense moments. I saw it for the first time when I was around 12, so I'm basically scarred for life.

similar situation here! my older cousins saw it in the theater and told me of it's monumental bad-ass-ness. they were way impressed with bernie casey i remember, about how he made himself 'disappear'. and also brian keith who my daughter knows from 'the parent trap', who played a tough old cop. he was a big guy! i saw it on cable some years after it was released in theaters. burt gets some fingers chopped off by some asians! it gets a 93% at rotten tomatoes. no other burt reynolds film even comes close. my friend, you HAVE to see it. and he directed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The finger chopping scene stuck in my head big time! Plus, didn't the black cop get shot in the balls? Or was that a different movie?

different movie! bernie casey & the italian mafia family guy shot each other about 17 times. the mafia guy somehow gets up (after being shot 17 times) and tries to shoot bernie in the head (he screams every time before he shoots -- he always does that, with everybody) but bernie casey keeps trying to make himself disappear. the italian guy screams a bunch of times, but can't shoot bernie. then the italian guy just walked away. no balls were involved
