Has anyone been watching this series on HBO Max? It's an adaption of the game about a zombie apocalypse created by an airborne fungus. I've never played the game, but those who have said it's a pretty faithful adaption which is rare these days.
My misgiving is that the sequel to the game is pretty awful. It's likely they might go that route for season 2. Hopefully someone will wise up before that happens.

The first two episodes are awesome. I haven't seen the third, but it goes Brokeback Mountain" with some supporting characters. o naturally there's Emmy talk.

It's pretty faithful up to a point. The changes they have done so far are for the better. The third episode alone is easily one of the best TV episodes I've watched in a long time. It knocked off Doctor Who's Van Gogh episode from the top of my favorite list. I'm normally averse to pandering stuff, but this one didn't feel like it (except for that scene where Ron Swanson was gaysexed after a nice meal).
The biggest change is the cordyceps virus stuff. The game version was more reliant on spores in the air to reproduce (so they had to wear gas masks and stuff when it comes to closed spaces with heavy infestation). The TV series seems to rely more on physical contact to infect. I guess that makes it better for the show, as it's a lot easier to write and produce stories around that.
