i never even noticed this series before! it stars the indian girl from 'the office' (looked her up. she's actually 44?!) as velma, the nerdy girl from scooby doo who constantly yells 'jenkies!" and loses her glasses. as executive producer this girl made velma indian, and wait for it ... gay! so brave. at this point wouldn't it be braver NOT to make a character gay? also shaggy is black, fred & daphne are rich (white) & evil. whew. suprisingly, it bombed hard. i don't think there was even a dog.

I think I vaguely remember that. That show has been around since 1969 but they can’t just leave it as it is, it must be reinvented to make it more “today.” I’m shocked they didn’t make Scooby a cat, just because…well… ‘cause.

I can't think of anyone who has said they enjoy this show. People either hate watch it or they're a you-tuber doing a review. Naturally, it was approved for another season.

They can’t just have Velma be a nerd and leave it at that. No, they have to change up a 50+ year old character and check all the boxes.
There’s a new Superman animated show I haven’t seen, but the artwork makes it look like the same thing. Lois looks middle eastern snd Jimmy is black. Leave decades old characters alone.
Years ago, there was a lot of bitching about whitewashing, using a white actor when it should be Asian or black or whatever. The dumbest example was that they cast a white guy to play Iron Fist. Never mind that Iron Fist has always been a white guy learning eastern culture, that was the whole point. Whitewashing was bad, but it’s all cool going the other way.
