i don't think we've discussed this show, but it's fantastic. there are only a few episodes, probably all on youtube.
you might recognize saboo from 'the mighty boosh'! and the guy doing 'sanchez' played dixon bainbridge -- you'll notice the voice. it reminds me of the recent "the spoils of babylon". in it, will ferrell, padded up like orson welles, claims, like garth marengi, that the show was so new & revolutionary that the networks wouldn't air it
"dag, aren't you an expert in the arcane & black arts?"

"I can't help thinking of Larry's exploding and how inconvenient it had been."
At first I kept having to tell myself it was just a parody!

Dagless: Listen! This ain't another exploding patient you can sweep under your rug! Now look, when Renwick exploded it reopened the portal to hell and so we must close it before it's too late.Sanchez: WHAT!? Am I holding a crock of shit!? Tell me something. Is this hospital called "St. Crock of Shit"!?(Long pause)
i liked it when "saboo" half heartedly shook his fist and said, "cool it sanchez, or you'll get a knuckle supper."

I like the Lovecraft style title for an episode about a space broccoli virus.

How did I not know about this?
I just watched the first episode via Youtube, but it's a little bit low in quality. I'll be looking for the entire DVD.
Also, is it just me or is the premise for the Darkplace show really good when taken seriously?

yeah, the sound could definitely be better. i discovered the show a couple of years ago when i was obsessed with 'boosh'. i can see what you're saying! a supernatural show with a hospital as a backdrop. i guess the idea has been touched upon, but not done well. there was a show called 'kingdom hospital' that stephen king had something to do with a decade ago. i never saw it

I thought of Kingdom Hospital when I saw Darkplace. They took it to the next level having the "writer" star in it and setting it in the 80s.

"The reason I got into medicine in the first place was for the laughs. That and the p-ssy. And that dried up ten year ago, if you'll pardon the expression." dean learner
i liked the titles
produced by dean learner
special effects by deanamatronics
soundtrack composed from music whistled by garth marenghi
thank you hairbutt, that's great! like 'playboy after dark'! dean learner is as suave and sophisticated as it's possible for a man to be. he and garth marenghi have quite a bromance going. i guess it's not everyday that you meet someone who is a shaman and a dreamweaver. i wish i could buy that 436 volume book garth was advertising, with attachable index
