i know people that have them, but no, i don't. i don't read that many new books, and there's something to be said about the intimacy of the printed page. I actually prefer to read paperbacks, and sometimes practically destroy them in the process

I love books. It's something my dad passed on to me and it's stayed with me. Since moving in with Pat & the boys 99% of my books are boxed up...waiting for that day when we have a big enough house so I can get book shelves for them to live on. I used to have that very same aversion to the electronic format. Then, I had a code for a free Star Wars eBook. That was pretty much the ice breaker and I've read quite a few Kindle books in the years since. Heck, I've probably read 30+ on my phone so far this year. I should have my Kindle tomorrow afternoon. I'm quite excited!

it's a great deal for someone who reads a lot of new books. a lady i used to work with got one before i'd ever heard of them. but she'd go thru one of them david baldacci novels every week or so, then make me read them. i think the PBs were $14.99, and at that time the e-books were $9.95, and she could get the latest ones immediately instead of waiting for them to be released in PB. so for her, it definitely paid for itself

I've got a nook. The downside is when you forget to charge it and you're going on a long trip where a book would come in handy.
