The comic book movie genre has become massive and it shows no signs of slowing down. There's been a ton of rumors about what the DC Cinematic Universe has in store for us, but now we have the official word on what's coming out. After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in 2016, DC/Warner Bros. is going to follow-up with a Suicide Squad movie! Don't worry, Wonder Woman isn't far behind and there's plenty more after that! Feast your eyes on the upcoming slate.
2016: Suicide Squad (directed by David Ayer) 2017: Wonder Woman (starring Gal Gadot) 2017: Justice League Part One (directed by Zack Snyder) 2018 The Flash (starring Ezra Miller) 2018: Aquaman (starring Jason Momoa) 2019: Shazam 2019: Justice League Part Two (directed by Zack Snyder) 2020: Cyborg (starring Ray Fisher) 2020: Green Lantern
. Only time will tell if these movies will be worth the wait, but this is still totally exciting news. It's great to see Diana will be the first "new" cinematic Justice League character to get a solo film and they'll then focus on the other members. The press release also noted that "Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema will release a slate of at least 10 movies—as well as stand-alone Batman and Superman films—from 2016 through 2020." At least 10 and stand-alone Batman and Superman films, so it looks like the above list may not be their complete schedule [/font]

gal gadot is staggeringly attractive, but as I've mentioned elsewhere previously, as a wonder woman she she seems to be missing a couple of important things. it's coming to me, bit i just can't put my finger on ... them

Yeah, she's basically built like a twelve year old boy. To make her look like a super hero, it's going to be like when they put Michael Keaton in te big nerf bat suit.

I share the same opinion that Gadot isn't built like the Wonder Woman I had in mind (in those pictures, at least. Maybe she bulked up a little since then), but neither is Lynda Carter (although I am not complaining about either of them playing the part. They're beautiful.) I've always pictured Wonder Woman as a little bit bulkier, maybe like Gina Carano or WWE's Victoria. Or Lucy Lawless in her Xena days.
It's the same with male characters, it's a visual thing. I would never be able to picture a lean version of Superman (imagine Andrew Garfield in the suit), but eh, visuals are just one part of the whole package. I enjoyed Marvel's movies even though they have a Thor and Captain America that is less bulky than what I expected.

How about Ezra Miller as the Flash? Not only is he too scrawny, he appears to be a giant douche. I can't believe I ever complained about the CW's Flash.

From a logical perspective, it makes sense that a super-strong character like Superman would be rather lean. I mean, how in the world would Superman ever get bulky-looking muscles when puny-looking ones can do the job just as well? It's not like he loses his super-strength if he looks like a "98-pound weakling," like the pre-muscular Flex Mentallo from those Charles Atlas ads. Kryptonian strength is a hundred times better than human strength already.
When Superman was first introduced back in ACTION COMICS #1, he was a rather lean, wiry looking fellow. An episode of Mr. & Mrs. Superman in SUPERMAN FAMILY made note of this, when the golden age Metalo (spelled with one L) turned Superman back to his original skinny self, forcing Superman to use this massive gym in his Secret Citadel (the mountainous precursor to the Fortress of Solitude in the Arctic) to bulk up again.
I'd imagine it's much the same with Wonder Woman. Huge muscles were never really part of the character, and they'd be unnecessary for the same reasons outlined above. Her strength comes from magic, not from her physical human muscles. Sure, she can bulk up, but she doesn't need to.

I'm not going by logic for my preference, because it's comic books (otherwise we start getting into the realm of why Magneto can have any kind of power he wants, or why The Thing isn't really weaker than Hulk. etc. Or how Amazons are portrayed in some stories as only having one breast, to help them with the use of bows and arrows.)
The visual preferences are just based on the things I have grown accustomed to. I started on comics in the 90s with Superman, particularly Bogdanove and Jurgens' versions where he's really muscular (never was a Wonder Woman fan, my exposures to the characters were through the videogames and Kingdom Come, where she's very muscular.) Like I said above, it's just a small part and will not prevent me from enjoying the film if everything else is good. As per the Thor and Cap examples.

Wonder Womans super strength comes from magic, but she still comes from a society of warriors.
Gal Gadot still seems more appropriate for her role that the d-bag they got to be the Flash!

Maybe it's a version of Flash that got his superspeed from doing drugs.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Speed Force."

I just like to argue.
Anyway, I do agree that Wonder Woman should look like she has strength, as should Superman, for visual purposes. It would just look wrong if they were scrawny.

Not gonna get an argument out of me. I'm a spineless coward. Besides, I'm in the "Gal Gadot isn't built like Wonder Woman" camp, yet I still want to see her in the role. Cuz she's hawt.
I'm with Babu on Ezra Miller 100%, though.

They could CGI her some boobs for the movie. They do need someone with a fuller body for the part.

They need to do something. I've seen pictures of her on the red carpet where she looks like she's built like a 12 year old boy.

The movie has her starting out like that, but then she signs up for a super secret Amazon program helmed by Dr. Abraham Erskine. They inject her with the super amazon serum and bam! she's bulked up.
