i read king's "1408" (the john cusack movie) for the first time today! very different from the film. but i did picture cusack as the character

and here there is a whole host of spooky sh-t you can read to feel more haloweeny. h.p. lovecraft, king, peter strab and lots of other.

this here boy (below) is obsessed with stephen king's 'riding the bullet' -- which was put online for download over a decade ago, and somehow made king an incredible buttload of money.
i think king himself said "an embarrassing amount of money". then he went on to say it bugged him that no one commented on the quality of the story, just how big the download thing became. he said after that he couldn't really go out in public anymore and was getting invited on three or four talk shows a day. i never heard about any of this until a week or so ago! but anyway, what i love most here is the charming old timey tripod website this thing is on! it harkens back to a simpler time, i'll tell you! *sigh* i miss those early internet days

It's a paradox, I must admit, if I knew what that meant. But I don't, because I never learned to read.
