Spoilers ahead
I have no complaints about this episode. Everybody did their part. I kinda liked Ingrid Oliver (I feel she's the better part of Watson & Oliver) and her character as well, but she never would'a worked as a companion because she wouldn't say no to the doctor. Also, I knew she was done for with the doctor's blatant invitation. This season has a knack for never following through with new companion teasers.
Missy was awesome. I hope we haven't seen the last of her (the effect used when she was blasted by CyberBrig is similar to the effect used when she teleports, so maybe she's going to be back.) I like her much better than Simms already. A true counterpart to the doctor - she doesn't rely on firepower. Even with an army of cybermen, she still relied on misdirection and smooth talking. And when she makes threats, she really goes through with it. She's the evil version of the doctor from The Time of Angels (the one who made the golden line about things that you don't put in a trap) and Forest of the Dead (the one who made the Vastha Nerada back down just by asking them rto read up on his history.)
I kinda liked the end. It was bittersweet in a way, with both doctor and Clara lying to each other under the mutual (but mistaken) belief that the other finally found what he or she wanted. Even if it's the last we see of Clara, I don't mind. She had a good run and a very poignant send off. I used "even if" because Jenna Coleman is confirmed for the Christmas special, and we still have a couple of loose threads hanging - the timetraveler they met in one of the episodes is supposed to be a descendant of Clara and Danny, so I think they're still going to get PE back, even if just for the Christmas special. Maybe they'll still get their happy ending.
Didn't like the Christmas special preview. Nick Frost busting in as Santa Claus totally killed the drama built up by the ending.
