Well, here in Vancouver, Canada, you'd expect to get some damn snow for Christmas, but we got nothin'. It's warm, the grass is still green, and people are walking around in shorts. It's hardly felt like Christmas.
Anyway, the wife and I have decided that the baby just doesn't like holidays for some reason. He had a 2-hour meltdown on Halloween, if you recall, and he did the same thing on Christmas Eve! We managed to get him to finally sleep while we were out visiting my wife's family, but he didn't get enough sleep. So on Christmas Day he was a bit cranky, but luckily he was a lot more well-behaved when we visited with my family. I think it helped that my sister's kids are so good with him.
But the whole Christmas experience as a new parent is exhausting -- doesn't feel like a real holiday anymore, the way it did before we had a kid. I think December 26th should be declared Parents Day, and every parent gets a day off from parenting, along with a complimentary full-body massage.

Wehad to hit both sets of our parents, so it was a pretty busy day. I ate like a pig yesterday and totally blew my diet. We had to make it home in time from my parents' Christmas party to watch the Doctor WHo Christmas special. I wish we had already blown up this one of Baboon Girl's presents so we could have watched it from inside it.
