me and the mrs. are going thru a juicing health kick sort of thing, and we decided to get off caffeine. and by day two, we were having these blinding headaches. so, damn this is embarrassing, we was at the supermarket the other day and bought some coffee, but also bought some raw coffee beans. and we ate them in the car like candy! our headaches immediately subsided. damn, this must be what meth addiction is like

why are you removing coffee from your system? you'll go crazy and violent and start murderin' stuff like in zombie movies.
Me, what I've been trying to remove from my diet is sugar. Coffee without sugar was difficult at first, but I got used to it.

yeah, i think sugar is more important to avoid and easier. when i was a kid i lived on the stuff! captain crunch, fruit loops, honey smsacks, frosted flakes, snickers bars -- but these days I can do without all the sugary stuff. tony the tiger can kiss my ass! but i need my coffee. splenda is a pretty good substitute

I gave up coffee years ago -- wasn't hard to do since I rarely drank it any way. It had a horrible effect on my digestive system -- cramps and tons of discomfort -- way too much for one damn cup of coffee.
I need to give up pop/soda -- but it's how I get my caffeine. *sigh*

do you drink decaf in the morning or just tea? i've recently started back on diet cola again after almost a decade hiatus. it's just so damn good! the 20-somethings i work with believe cola & coffee are bad for you, but suck down tons of energy drinks! they drink the cola anyway, but not diet, which is considered tabu

I cut way back on sugar because I am now a diabetic.(not insulin dependent) I cut way back on soda because soda is hard on your teeth and hard on your inner organs to digest. I do love Dr Pepper or Coke! I cut way back on fast food because it's fattening and you could really spend the money on fast food. I am not going to cut back on coffee! I don't think coffee is a problem for me as I only have three or four cups a day.

i agree with everything you said! not to get too personal, but is your problem with diabetes based partially on weight or is it not? damn, i'll tell you, the older i get, the skinnier i ain't. at 5'11 and around 210 or more, it's really starting to worry me. but i loves my alcohol and food

I don't drink any coffee at all. When I drink tea, it's not for/during breakfast or that often. I'm sure if I stopped drinking diet pop I'd lose quite a bit of weight - but as I said, it's how I get my caffeine. And...I'd miss my Captain & Diet!!

I too have not had coffee in years. I drink tea or Chai tea because I am hippy dippy.

I don't think I could live without coffee. I drink about a pot a day. I'm on a big diet/ work out regimen right now, so I'm giving up sugar and carbs. I sure miss sugar in my coffee. But as much coffee as I drink, that'd be way too much sugar.
