well not a film, a 30 minute pilot for a tv series. ed wood wrote it for (of course) bela lugosi. it was considered "lost" or never made at all. paul marko's (kelton the cop) great-nephew spent years tracking it down
marcos (who died in 2006) told his nephew words to the effect that if this show had gone to series in 1957, it would've made 'the twilight zone' look like crap! years later the nephew got hold of some films cans at an auction, and the films inside were decaying and smelled like vinegar. and one can was marked 'final curtain'! anyway, he knew a guy who was considered a master film restorer, and the guy worked on it for about a year. later the nephew was told the U.C.L.A. film & television archive had a print of 'final curtain' THAT WAS deposited by a doner in 2010. his played his version in 2012 at the slamdance film festival to massive applause. so c'mon & enjoy, 'final curtain'

It's a pity the series was never made...At least we still have the "Kelton trilogy" to enjoy.
