waking, babu runs to the downstairs to see things just as they were before.
"hello sir," says geeves, as babu approaches the bar. "degaton hoped to detain you and finish you off later at his leisure. i am a hologram, as well as are many of the servants. but everything else is real. degaton has put doc quantum, drivaan, highness, and miss taffy into your jetta so to extinguish them. a babu avatar, the one who's eyes you were seeing thru as you slept, is at this moment getting behind the wheel & is about to drive them into an exploding moose. gertrude von degaton, pretending to be a 'mystery weekend' actress, is taking mh into the 31st century where they can play "you show me yours, i'll show you mine" until mh loses his sanity. the others are free to go. degaton has no real problem with them. would you like a quick drambuie as a bracer sir?"
"i would," replies babu, "i really would. make it a double."

Babu downs his drink in one gulp and is about to jump into action when Hairbutt, Kenny, Buddy, and the rest of the interns run up. "What's going on?" they all ask.
"You guys need to stop that fake Babu from driving our friends into an exploding moose," Babu told them. "I have to stop Degaton's daughter from taking MH to the future to make him her love slave!" Hairbutt and the others quickly run after the VW Jetta, screaming and waving their arms.
"Gee, I wonder what they want?" Taffy says, looking out the rear window.
"They probably want a ride," Highness says. "But there's not enough room.
Hairbutt grabs the rear of the car. His feet skid against the ground, slowing the car down.
"They're screaming it's a trap!" Doc Quantum exclaims. He quickly transports them out of the car and Hairbutt then lets go of the bumper and the car goes flying into the moose, exploding in a ball of flame.
Babu uses his enhanced baboon senses to locate MH. Gertrude has a gun drawn on him and they're inside a stolen Rip Hunter TMtime sphere. the time sphere is glowing as if it's about to take off, so Babu flies into it like a guided missile, causing it to shatter. babu is thrown backward and Gertrude and MH fall to the ground unconcious.
When Babu wakes up, Taffy and the interns are standing over him. "What's going on?"
"It's been three hours," Taffy says.
"I've been out for three hours?" Babu asks.
"No, you just appeared," Doc Quantum says. "When you went after the time sphere, you must have gone three hours into the future. If you hadn't hit it when you did, they would have gone a lot further."
"Now we just need to find Degaton before he can cause more trouble," Babu says, sitting up.

just then dupin, the belgian detective walks up carrying the boy degaton by the back of the neck.
"let me go!" young gary degaton is screaming.
"good work dupin, "says drivaan. "what'll we do with him?"
"i say we stick him in rip hunter's time sphere over there & send him straight to the stone age." says babu.
"ah that rip hunter," says reginald, looking starry eyed. "he's dreamy."
"i thought you were gone!" yells babu, and reginald runs out.

Reginald stops. "Wait, now I remember why I returned. Sir Kenneth...Count Budrick... would you like to be my guests for an around the world cruise upon my private yacht?"
"Sure!" Kenny says. "Could we bring our pal, Tony Baloney? We owe him a favor."
"Of course, my good man. The more the merrier!" Reginald says.
The Monkey Aliance and the interns watch as Kenny and Buddy get into Reginald's limo. "Geat," MH says. "We save the day and they get rewardd with a cruise around the world."
"I guess we should have schmoozed Reginald and his wife a little more for an invite," Babu says.
"What do we do with him?" Dupin asks, giving the young Degaton a shake." He cannot be allowed on his own, non?"
"I have an idea,"Babu says.
Babu steps into the time sphere and smashes the panel that controls the year of travel for the time machine. Okay," Babu says. "Bring them in." the youth-transformed Gary Degaton and his daughter are tossed into the time sphre and Babu starts it, jumping out bfore it takes off. The last thing they see of it is Degaton beating against the door.
"That should buy us some peace for a while," Babu says. "Since he tansformed himself into an adolescent,he won't be able to handle his situatin emotionally and it will take him forever to work it out. He'll be bouncing around the time stream for a while."
"This calls for a celebration," Doc Quantum says.
"How about Meaty McGees?" Taffy says enthusiastically.
"What is this Meaty McGees you speak of?" Dupin asks.
"Come with us," Babu says. "You're in for a treat."
Eeryone piles into the van and takes off for Meaty McGees. he mansion grew smaller in the distance.
