I was determined to believe that a fishing reel I bought was defective and she showed me how it was just me being stoopid and not paying attention to what I was doing. It looks like my fishing trip is on for tomorrow. I hate admitting she was right about something she knew nothing about and I had experience with.

it's almost a superpower. and sometimes someone who knows absolutely nothing about something is able to look outside the box and see something a master angler like yerself lothar, might have missed. mine comes at me about so much damn stuff, by law of averages she's bound to get a bunch correct. anyway, what kind of fishing are you doing? i've been thinking of trying some fishing out here. previously I lived in oregon, and that salmon and fly fishing crap was out of my realm. i lived in tennesse in my youth, so i'm a perch and bonefish man! i need a worm a float and a sinker or i have no idea what i'm doing

My eleven year old son and I went fishing at Blue Lake Park today. My boy caught one fish that got away. I caught two fish, one got off the hook before I had him all the way out of the water and another I got all the way up just for me to let him go. We were just doing catch and release with no intention of keeping the fish.

that sounds fun. you're lucky. i got a girl who's 10 and fishing with her is out of the question. even if i caught & released, she'd feel sorry for the worm. she'd be traumatised
