Here's a thread for character breakdowns. As a newbie, I still don't know much about the Monkey Alliance characters other than those I created. There are also all the interns and support staff whom I haven't got a good handle on. This is a good place to provide some info on all the characters' powers, personalities, and history, as much or as little as needed in order to use them well in a story.
I'll start:
Doc Quantum
REAL NAME: Dr. Henry Von "Doc" Quantum
OCCUPATION: Superhero
MARITAL STATUS: Married
KNOWN RELATIVES: Mrs. Quantum (wife)
GROUP AFFILIATION: Monkey Alliance; Message Board League (before being retconned)
BASE OF OPERATIONS: Justice City, USA
FIRST APPEARANCE: "What's up with the big banana?" (current incarnation)
HEIGHT: 5'11"
WEIGHT: 175 lbs.
EYES: Green
HAIR: White
ABILITIES & EQUIPMENT: Doc Quantum can teleport short distances and can make small jumps forward or backward in time. Whenever Doc jumps to a time in which an earlier or later version of him exists, he only appears as an immaterial phantom who is slightly transparent, but whose voice can be heard. The full extent of Doc's teleportation and time-traveling powers have not yet been explored, but it's possible that those powers could be temporarily amplified by somehow amplifying them with a great deal of energy. Thanks to his being retconned numerous times, Doc is somewhat aware of his status in a fictional universe and often makes references to pop culture.
PERSONALITY: Doc Quantum is a bit quirky, is devoted to his wife, and shouldn't be taken too seriously, though he is an able super-hero and can be relied upon in a pinch (unless there's a joke in there somewhere, in which case the joke always wins).
HISTORY: Doc Quantum popped into existence in the Monkey Alliance Universe only recently, having already existed in various other universes wherein he was usually a member of the Message Board League (MBL). In the MA Universe, Doc is a monkey-human hybrid whose origin is still unknown. After being invited to join the Monkey Alliance by an old friend, Babu Baboon (see Babu Baboon), Doc was exposed to a device invented by Gary Degaton known as the Big Banana, which gave him super-powers allowing him to teleport short distances and make short jumps through time. Later, an event involving 24 cats while trapped in a closet traumatized him, making him hate cats, which are his kryptonite.

FIRST APPEARANCE: "What's up with the big banana?"

ABILITIES & EQUIPMENT: Drivtaan has super-speed, but he prefers to rely on his highly analytical detective mind.
PERSONALITY: Drivtaan is analytical and tends to brood. He dislikes large groups and has a suspicious mind.
HISTORY: Years ago, Drivtaan apprenticed under Pete Plunger, the so-called "plumbing detective," who taught him everything he knew about plumbing and detective work. After accompanying Plunger on a number of plumbing-related cases, Drivtaan eventually struck out on his own as a private detective. After being invited to join the Monkey Alliance, Drivtaan was exposed to a device created by Gary Degaton known as the Big Banana, which by some quirk of fate granted him super-speed. Drivtaan has made himself at home in the Monkey Alliance as its resident brooding detective and often pals around with Doc Quantum.

Hair: White with brown fur
ABILITIES: Super Strength, flight, enhanced healing, limited invulnerability
HISTORY: Babu Baboon and his brother started as lab animals in Gary Degaton's laboratory. After genetic expiraments, Babu was granted enhanced intelligence, the ability to walk upright like a human, speech, super strength, flight, enhanced healing and limited invulnerability. After he and his brother escaped from Degaton's headquarters, he dedicated himself to helping humanity and foiling the plans of villains such as his creator.
PERSONALITY: Babu is basically the straight man to the cast of characters who surround him, much like Bob Newhart was in each of his series and Martian Manhunter was to the 80s Justice League.

ABILITIES & EQUIPMENT: Carries a 1916 Bolo Mauser, a Katar (कटार), a bundi dagger, a throwing knife, and two suriken "throwing stars". He is further protected by a weapon resistent tunic. Has extensive skill in the martial arts due to clone memory of the first Paul Kirk's training by legendary ninjutsu sensei Asano Nitobe. His physical durability is at times borderline superhuman, and he heals from the worst wounds quickly. He has superior detection & tracking skills.
PERSONALITY: Due probably to inherent problems of the cloning process, mh is less focused than the original Paul Kirk. And although generally, and sometimes fiercely loyal to the Monkey Alliance, he often seems to be more absorbed with his own self interests. He is a good father & fair husband. He occasionally exhibit a grandiose sense of self-importance. He retains some bias against all non-clones. MH is also vain, and prone to fantasy, and to amorous flirtations with young ladies.
HISTORY: MH's history is somewhat murky. The original Paul Kirk was resurrected and set to lead a clone army, who would follow orders to re-create the world in The Council's twisted image. MH most likely escaped from some cloning project sponsored by surviving members of The Council or by the U.S. Government after Asano Nitobe & Christine St. Clair, sworn to kill all Manhunters, attacked & destroyed the facility in which he and perhaps others, were created. After this, during a temporary loss of memory he lived as a normal man & married. Abilities: Kenny and Buddy are basically idiot savants when it comes to fixing things. They handle such jobs as keeping the Monkey-mobile and all other equipment running. The level of their mechanical and scientific abilities is in direct contrast to their appearance and personalities.
Personalities: Kenny and Buddy's personalities mask their level of expertise. Anyone meeting them would believe them to be functionally illiterate.
History: Kenny and Buddy have been with the last two incarnations of the Monkey Alliance taking care of all their technical needs.

HEIGHT: Ranging anywhere from 5'6 to 5'9"
WEIGHT: Unknown (petite)

HAIR: Various
ABILITIES: Strong clerical skills. Dakota often referred to as "the smart one", tends to act as their leader, and often exhibits above average intelligence. Each are quite athletic, and can prove very formidable. Their addition to the group has raised the Monkey Alliance's overall attractiveness to a vastly higher level.
PERSONALITY: They all appear good-natured, helpful and loyal, and seem to take their jobs and Monkey Alliance status seriously. Each can be a little dizzy, but generally, this manifests itself in a charming way.
HISTORY: First referred to by Monkey Alliance member MH to Babu Baboon as "those cute new interns you somehow conned into transcribing hours upon hours of 'Klinger's Crazy Jokes' for free", they have since proven themselves indispensable to the Monkey Alliance, and have occasionally partaken in their own Monkey Alliance adventures.

Kenny is currently engaged to a hugely obese girl because he likes big butts and he cannot lie. He plans to have his bachelor's party at the strip joint, Hefty's, where no dancer is under 250 lbs. And you're invited, Doc!

Abilities: Capable of performing many small office-related tasks.
Personality: Gill is rather timid and frightens easily. MH once commented that "Compared to Gill, Steve is as cool as a rat-pack member." He's a big fan of the DC Comic's character Booster Gold. He is very intimidated by attractive females.
History: Like Steve, Gill is fresh out of school. Gill came to attention of Babu Baboon thru Steve, his best friend and roommate. Babu stated that he intended "to hire Gill on as a gopher, helping out Steve... running errands for Peggy*... helping out Kenny and Buddy, etc." Which he did.
*Peggy is Babu Baboon's personal assistant, who has been with him for years.

Abilities: Very proficient in all office related tasks.
Personality: Peggy is very loyal to Babu Baboon and is often described to him as "your personal assistant Peggy who has been with you for years." She is somewhat emotionally fragile and prone to nervous breakdowns. And the many & various stresses of being Babu Baboon's assistant has often caused Peggy to take "leaves of absence" from Babu's employ. However, she is fiercely loyal and always returns after her "rests".
History: Peggy is a mature lady long in Babu Baboon's employ, weathering his personal ups & downs. She lives in a small apartment with her cat, name unknown.
