Mxy's obsession with him will tear this board apart.

i haven't listened to his recent stuff at all, but that song they used for the louis vuitton commercial was fantastic i thought, and a testament to how well he's managed his voice. he sounds like he did at 25. i've always liked that he's been for years the only guy at his level of fame willing to take crazy risks, often falling flat on his face (tin machine. uggg.) but with no real damage to his reputation. that's just who he is
speaking of louis vuitton ... isn't this "big daddy kills a warehouse full of guys" from kickass?

I haven't heard his more recent stuff, either. But now that I kow he's got a new album out, I'm going to check it out.
I first got into Bowie in the 80s, discovering his newer stuff first like Scary Monsters.. THen I discovered his earlier stuff later and REALLY liked it. I've probably worn the grooves off my Ziggy Stardust CD. Hunky Dory was a good one, too.

I like some of the new album. From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Next_DayIt is Bowie's first album of new material in ten years, since 2003's Reality, and surprised fans and media who believed he had retired.... The Next Day debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, selling 94,048 copies in its first week. It is Bowie's ninth number-one album in the United Kingdom, and his first in twenty years since Black Tie White Noise (1993).[53] The album fell to number two the following week, selling 35,671 copies.[54] In its third week, it slipped to number three on sales of 23,157 units.[55] In the United States, the album entered the Billboard 200 at number two with first-week sales of 85,000 copies, earning Bowie his largest sales week for an album in the Nielsen SoundScan era.[56] It is also his highest charting album on the US Billboard. Elsewhere, The Next Day topped the charts in several countries, including Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland,[57][58][59][60][61] while reaching number two in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Italy, and Spain.[57][62] *** Wasn't really into the first singgle, Valentine's Day, but love the latest one, I'd Rather Be High, which has an excellent film clip of archival footage of eople dancing and celebrating during wartime. Faintly disturbing.

i can see where people assumed he retired. living a life of perfection with iman, always showing up where the beautiful people are, like in zoolander

I got the latest album recently and liked it a lot. It was in the latest 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die so I picked it up.

"I'm Afraid of Americans" is a great song! It's interesting that he got Trent Reznor to be in the video. I wonder if he had anything to do with the music side.
I'd Rather be High is fantastic.

reznor really looked nuts. bowie is working some exceptionally good hair in that video
